Statement on Marching in the 2024 Capital Pride Parade

Centretown Community Health Centre (CCHC) remains committed to marching in this year’s Capital Pride Parade.

It has never been more important to stand with Pride in the face of increasing attacks on the rights and freedoms of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals here in Canada and around the world.  We are committed to respect for the human rights of every individual, regardless of nationality, religion, or identity.

CCHC's values prioritize inclusivity, respect, and the well-being of all members of our community. The Pride March is a significant event for us to reaffirm our commitment to our 2SLGBTQIA+ organizational partners and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. For those of us within the community marching is a visible demonstration of joy and celebration. It is resistance to the oppressive structures which have harmed, and continue to harm us, to this day.

We don’t walk away, we walk together.
